Queenie’s Floral Design

I design and create natural floral arrangements for all of life’s special moments. Weddings are always a joy, and my work includes corporate and promotion events, parties and any other event or occasion that needs to be flowered up.

I have been working with flowers for many years but became a full time florist just over five years ago when I set up my business, Queenie’s Floral Design. As a regular freelancer, I have worked on many weddings and events, both small and large. I have gained a wealth of experience and enjoy collaborating with a fabulous team of florists across the Midlands region. I work from my home studio in Wolverhampton, and will happily travel further afield.

I love working with couple’s helping them to plan and design the flowers for their special day. This is often the first time that they have considered the flowers they like, and I love the process of introducing them to floral styles and what will work within their budget.

I use local and home grown flowers as much as possible, and enjoy foraging in wild and urban spaces for those unique additions. I find that almost all arrangements benefit from a wiggly piece of foliage, or a wonky flower stem.

Workshops and Tuition

I offer workshops for small groups or individuals wishing to extend their knowledge of floral design. My seasonal wreath workshops are always popular and a good starting point for the floral novice. I will tailor 1:1 workshops to the individuals needs, and provide a warm welcome with tea and home made cake!

Welcome to Queenie’s Floral Design.

My first love was nature. It inspires, heals and brings joy to every day. The changing seasons are a delight and I find it impossible to choose between them. My floral creations are inspired by the flowers and foliage that each season brings. I believe wholeheartedly in being kind to nature and working sustainably. For me, this means working with seasonal natural materials, avoiding use of floral foam and working more creatively by constructing wire frameworks. This gives a fluidity to arrangements and suits my style of floristry well.

I’m passionate about saving nature, composting all my waste and preferring not to buy materials that attract unnecessary mileage and carbon. I volunteer for the RSPB, and have several conservation-related memberships, including the Bumblebee Conservation Trust and the Woodland Trust.

Authenticity drives everything I do.

In addition to my own floral commissions, I work as a freelance florist, enjoying the variety this brings and making good friends along the way. I am a member of Flowers from the Farm and find inspiration from the network of florists who work with freshly cut flowers, sourced locally.

If you are looking for a florist for your special day, who will listen to you, work within your budget and translate your floral dreams into reality, then contact me for a consultation.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Thank you so much for making our gorgeous flowers, everyone commented on how beautiful they were and the foliage hoops looked spectacular in the tipi. You made the whole process so easy and a lot of fun.

Thank you so much Gretel for making my flower dreams a reality. You totally understood the brief and gave brilliant advice on which flowers were in season, and how to pull the look together.

I loved my bouquet and the flower crown was just perfect. The table flowers were amazing and thank you for the extra flowers for our cake.

With love from Mr and Mrs Walford
